Abstract (englisch)
One of today´s major societal challenges is the reliable supply of food for growing urban population in a sustainable manner. Disconnection of production and consumption combined with most current agricultural practices increases the pressure on farmland and related ecosystems and generally impacting environment negatively.
Local sustainable food systems (LSFS) try to (re-)organise space and time of production, distribution and consumption of food in a sustainable manner by focusing on environmental friendly practices, short supply chains, the development of rural areas and strengthening of healthy and seasonal diets.
This project aims to develop and disseminate a common and innovative teaching tool (tool kit) to introduce and work on LSFS. The process of assessing current innovative LSFS (including production, distribution and consumption) and teaching practices at vocational schools is undertaken by the project partners involving vocational teachers and trainers to include a multi-stakeholder perspective and create the tool together.
The main target audience of this project are the teachers and the trainers of agricultural vocational schools, as they are the link to the students shaping the future of our food system. The elaborated tool will enhance participative pedagogical practices, aiming to bring real life situations (case study learning) into teaching practices of vocational schools.

Berichte
